Special prayers coinciding with the Royal Cremation will be conducted tomorrow at the Kuenselphodrang
On Command of His Majesty The King, special prayers coinciding with the Royal Cremation of His Majesty The Late King Bhumibol Adulyadej of Thailand will be conducted at the Kuenselphodrang tomorrow. His Holiness the Je Khenpo will preside over the day – long special prayer.
The prayer ceremony will be attended by the Members of the Royal Family, senior government officials, diplomatic corps, the Thai community in Bhutan and general public receiving the ongoing oral transmission of Buddhist Kangyur at the Kuenselphodrang, a press release from the foreign ministry states.
In view of the shared spiritual heritage and excellent relations between the two Kingdoms, His Majesty The King and Her Majesty The Gyaltsuen are travelling to Thailand today to pay last respects to His Majesty The Late King Bhumibol Adulyadej and will attend the Royal Cremation tomorrow in Bangkok.
His Majesty The Late King Bhumibol Adulyadej of Thailand is revered as a visionary King not just in Thailand but all over the world. His Majesty The Late King Bhumibol Adulyadej’s compassion and love for millions of Thai people have resulted in around 4,000 rural development projects, which have been at the forefront of innovation and continue to benefit millions of Thai to this day.
One of His Majesty The Late King Bhumibol Adulyadej’s most significant legacies is the development of the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy, which influenced the global development paradigm. His Majesty’s Sufficiency Economy Philosophy which emphasises moderation, responsible consumption and resilience to external shock is of great relevance worldwide during these times of rapid globalisation.
In a lifetime of achievements, His Majesty The Late King Bhumibol Adulyadej’s legacy of benevolence, vision and as selfless persona will remain as a hallmark of leadership and beacon of integrity for generations to come.
His Majesty The Late King Adulyadej passed away on October 13, 2016 in Bangkok, Thailand.
